Caregiving Blogs Progressive Party

I wrote yesterday about not participating in the party — really, I’m just not participating with the Webring implementation.

I think visiting other sites where folks are writing about family caregiving is a super idea.  You’ll probably be surprised at the abundance of good stuff out there, and I’m sure you’ll find things that are useful and encouraging.  And hey, drop some comment love while you’re visiting to encourage these writers!

Here’s the latest list from Denise at Caregiving.com who organized the party (thanks, Denise).

On Caregiving.com, three family caregivers share their days through their own blogs:

  • Gary cares for his mother
  • Sharon cares for her husband
  • Tara cares for her mother

Our Progressive Party Sites:

Advocate for Lung Disease and Smokefree Living: Lori created a site in memory of her father to help patients with lung disease and their family caregivers.

Ageless-Sages: Ageless-Sages produces books for adults, seniors, elders and older readers.

Candace Rose: Candace cares for her grandmother. She’s an aspiring photographer and journalist.

Difficult Seasons: Jim Hughes tells us that difficult seasons are a normal part of life.

Elder Care: Melanie shares tips for family caregivers.

Eldercare Learnings: Louise founded this site to offer a place for family caregivers to share their stories.

Heavenly Helpers: A professional sitting service with certified nursing aides.

HL’s Journey: Heather Lyn blogs about caring for her mother. She’s also an overnight companion for a couple.

Lollipop Moments: A mom and wife shares her days caring for her father.

Loving Grand: A Granddaughter’s Caring Journal

Paradox of Living: Caregiving, Family & Life: Jeff Smyth blogs about caring for his wife and their young son.

SanwichINK: Kaye offers information and encouragement for sandwiched family caregivers.

Saving Mom – Be Caregiver: Be Caregiver offers online support for family caregivers.

Transition Aging Parents: Dale, a long-distance caregiver, writes about resources, options, new policy/research that will aid adult children in helping their aging parents thrive and find joy in every stage of life.

Since it’s rainy and dreary here in Houston this morning, a little party is a great idea!

Hi Jim! Yay! I’m glad to spend a Saturday morning partying with you. :) You’re a terrific resource for family caregivers. And, thanks for the feedback on the webring. I didn’t run into those odd links when I went through the ring, but webring does have it’s imperfections. I wanted to try it… because my initial research found that to be the best one. But… I did just find another ring we can use for future parties that looks much easier to use. Hurray!

Have a great weekend. And, thanks again for the great support!

    Best,
    Denise
